Congo prices every match alike. It does not price every outcome alike

Across the whole of Congo's opening-weekend board, the gap between the cheapest match to bet and the dearest is less than half a point. The gap between backing a favourite and backing an outsider is many times that.
Most markets vary by fixture. A heavy favourite in an early kick-off gets a wide board, a well-followed contest gets a narrow one. Congo does almost none of that: every match this weekend is priced within a whisker of every other.
What it does instead is price by outcome. The shorter the price, the closer to fair it sits. The longer the price, the further it drifts, and that drift is steep.
It makes almost no difference which match you bet here. It makes a great deal of difference what you bet on it.
An unusually even weekend
The best available number on each result, the house holding it, and the market's own read on the match. The margin figure on each line is the one to watch.

Every fixture on this board lands between 1.24% and 1.65%. That is a remarkably flat weekend, and it suggests pricing driven by a common model rather than by how much attention each match attracts.
The market's read is conventional. Hull City against Manchester United is the most one-sided at 70% for the visitors, and Ipswich against Sunderland the most open.
What the three markets cost
Margin is the amount the odds carry above a fair book. The evenness across fixtures does not carry over to markets.
- Match result5.45% at a typical book, 1.52% at the best available price
- Over and under 2.5 goals5.39% at a typical book, -2.70% at the best available price
- Both teams to score7.10% at a typical book, 4.79% at the best available price
The goals line is the notable one. The best available numbers on the two sides add up to less than a whole book, which is a market openly disagreeing with itself about how these games go. It is a measure of that disagreement rather than a strategy, since prices move.
Both teams to score is where the cost concentrates, at roughly three times the match-result figure after comparison.
Where each house sits
Averaged across the same matches: overall, match result, over and under 2.5 goals, both teams to score.
- Melbet3.55% overall · 1.59% · 1.54% · 7.53%
- betPawa4.99% overall · 5.01% · 5.00% · 4.96%
- Premier Bet7.02% overall · 6.02% · 8.03%
- Supergooal7.04% overall · 7.17% · 7.00% · 6.95%
- Apollo Games7.84% overall · 7.45% · 8.02% · 8.05%
The distance from the top of this table to the bottom is more than double, which in a market this evenly priced by fixture makes the choice of house the main decision available to a bettor.
Notice the shape of the leader: close to fair on results and on the goals line, then well above five percent on both teams to score. The houses beneath it are flatter and dearer.
Where the prices separate
The widest gaps of the weekend, and then the bands that explain them.
- Hull City v Manchester United, home win7.25 at one book against 8.80 at another, 21% better
- Manchester City v Bournemouth, away win5.48 at one book against 6.30 at another, 15% better
- Hull City v Manchester United, the draw4.70 at one book against 5.14 at another, 9% better
- Manchester City v Bournemouth, the draw4.70 at one book against 5.13 at another, 9% better
- Fulham v Chelsea, home win3.41 at one book against 3.72 at another, 9% better
- Favourites, under 2.002.44% below the best price on average
- Middling prices, 2.00 to 4.003.80% below
- Long shots, over 4.006.38% below
Hull City at home is available at 7.25 in one place and 8.80 in another. On XAF 5,000 that is XAF 7,750 of difference for an identical bet.
The ladder below is the steepest thing on this board. A long price here is shaded far harder than a short one, which is precisely the variation the fixture-by-fixture pricing does not show.
How far a bettor needs to look
With fixtures priced so evenly, the value of comparison lies almost entirely in which houses are being compared.
- Melbet65% of the best prices, 98.3% of the value
- Adding betPawa94% of the best prices, 100.0% of the value
- Adding Supergooal100% of the best prices, 100.0% of the value
- Adding Premier Bet100% of the best prices, 100.0% of the value
The leader carries most of the value on its own and a second name completes it. In a market this flat by fixture, that short list is effectively the whole decision.
What the opening weekend shows
Fixture choice is not a pricing decision here. Unlike the usual pattern, Congo does not charge noticeably more for the Friday opener or the lopsided match. Bet the football you want to bet.
Outcome choice very much is. The penalty on long prices is steep. The outsider and the draw are where a second look repays the effort.
Watch whether the goals market settles. The best over and under prices currently fail to add up to a whole book. Where that lands over the coming rounds is the most interesting question this board raises.
This is the first instalment. The same numbers follow every round.

Method
Odds from the Congolese bookmakers listed above on the Premier League fixtures of 21 to 24 August 2026, as at 18 August. Margin is the sum of the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market, less 100%. The best available price takes the highest number quoted on each outcome anywhere in the Congolese market. Percentages beside a fixture are the market's own view of it once margin is stripped out. Odds move; the numbers here describe a snapshot, not a guarantee. 18+. Bet responsibly.
