DR Congo offers two kinds of bookmaker, and the choice is yours to make

The Congolese board this weekend splits into two clear kinds of bookmaker: the specialist, brilliant on some markets and poor on others, and the generalist, which charges you much the same wherever you go.
At the top of the market a house prices both the match result and the goals line at 1.56%, then asks 7.56% to tell you whether both sides score. Further down, another charges within a whisker of 5% on all three.
Neither is better in the abstract. Which one is better for you depends on what your slip actually contains, and that is a more useful way to read this market than any single ranking.
A specialist is cheap where you look and expensive where you do not. A generalist is neither.

- Newcastle v Liverpool, Sun 23 Aug3.73 1xBet / 4.16 1xBet / 1.97 1xBet · 26 / 24 / 50%
- Fulham v Chelsea, Mon 24 Aug3.72 1xBet / 3.96 1xBet / 2.05 Betwinner · 27 / 25 / 48%
Fulham against Chelsea is the tightest board of the round at 0.91%, with Chelsea a 48% chance on the road. Arsenal against Coventry is the widest by a distance, and it is the Friday opener with a heavy favourite, which is the setup that produces a wide board everywhere.
The market's read on the rest of the weekend is orthodox and priced close to fair, which is a good sign for anyone betting results here.
What the three markets cost
Margin is the share the odds carry above a fair book. In DR Congo the three markets are priced nothing like each other.
- Match result4.67% at a typical book, 2.00% at the best available price
- Over and under 2.5 goals4.92% at a typical book, -1.59% at the best available price
- Both teams to score6.80% at a typical book, 5.32% at the best available price
The goals line is the striking one. The keenest numbers on the two sides of it add up to less than a whole book, which means houses here hold genuinely opposing views about how these games go. Prices move, so this describes disagreement rather than an opening.
Both teams to score is the market that stays expensive whatever you do. It is the dearest before comparison and comfortably the dearest after.
Specialists and generalists, side by side
Averaged across the same matches: overall, then match result, then over and under 2.5 goals, then both teams to score. Read the rows across.
- Melbet3.56% overall · 1.56% · 1.56% · 7.56%
- 1xBet4.04% overall · 1.56% · 3.00% · 7.56%
- Betika4.70% overall · 4.09% · 5.04% · 4.96%
- betPawa5.00% overall · 5.02% · 5.01% · 4.96%
- 22Bet6.01% overall · 7.07% · 6.00% · 4.96%
- Betwinner6.29% overall · 5.37% · 5.96% · 7.54%
- Premier Bet7.05% overall · 6.06% · 8.04%
- Mojabet7.63% overall · 6.57% · 7.82% · 8.50%
The top two rows are specialists. They price results and goals lines close to fair and recover it all on both teams to score.
Betika and betPawa are generalists: nothing spectacular anywhere, nothing punitive either. For a bettor whose accumulator mixes markets, the generalist frequently wins on the whole slip while losing on every individual line.
Where the board disagrees
The widest gaps of the weekend, then the bands they fall into.
- Hull City v Manchester United, home win7.40 at one book against 8.80 at another, 19% better
- Manchester City v Bournemouth, away win5.60 at one book against 6.30 at another, 12% better
- Fulham v Chelsea, home win3.36 at one book against 3.72 at another, 11% better
- Brighton v Aston Villa, away win2.90 at one book against 3.15 at another, 9% better
- Newcastle v Liverpool, home win3.45 at one book against 3.73 at another, 8% better
- Favourites, under 2.002.01% below the best price on average
- Middling prices, 2.00 to 4.003.12% below
- Long shots, over 4.004.25% below
Hull City at home is quoted at 7.40 in one place and 8.80 in another. On CDF 20,000 that is CDF 28,000 of difference on the same opinion.
The ladder below is shallow, which fits a market where the leading houses price results close to fair regardless of how likely the outcome is.
How quickly the best of the board is reached
The question worth asking is how much a second or third choice adds once the first is in place.
- Melbet59% of the best prices, 98.3% of the value
- Adding betPawa89% of the best prices, 100.0% of the value
- Adding Mojabet99% of the best prices, 100.0% of the value
- Adding Betwinner100% of the best prices, 100.0% of the value
One choice captures nearly all of the value here, and a second closes the gap completely. Notice that the second name on this list is a generalist: it earns its place not by beating the leader on results but by covering the market where the leader is weakest.
What the opening weekend suggests
Choose by slip, not by headline. A specialist and a generalist can finish a table in either order depending on what is weighted. The only ranking that matters is the one applied to the markets you actually bet.
Goals disagreement is worth watching. A market whose best over and under prices do not add up to a whole book has not settled. Whether these houses converge over the coming rounds is the most interesting thing on this board.
The Friday opener is expensive here too. It carried several times the margin of everything after it. One weekend is not a rule, but it is worth checking again.
This is the first instalment. The same numbers follow each round.

Method
Odds from the Congolese bookmakers listed above on the Premier League fixtures of 21 to 24 August 2026, as at 18 August. Margin is the sum of the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market, less 100%. The best available price takes the highest number quoted on each outcome anywhere in the Congolese market. Percentages beside a fixture are the market's own view of it once margin is stripped out. Odds move; the numbers here describe a snapshot, not a guarantee. 18+. Bet responsibly.
