Angola charges the most, and comparing prices claws back the least

Angolan bettors pay more to back the same Premier League result than bettors are used to paying, and the usual remedy of comparing prices recovers less of it than it should.
A typical match-result price on this board carries 7.65%. Take the keenest number available on each result and it still carries 5.05%. A board that responds properly to comparison does not stop there.
That is what a market without close competition looks like from the inside. The prices are not wild, and no house is obviously out of line. They are simply all expensive together.
When every price is dear, comparing prices stops being the answer.

- Fulham v Chelsea, Mon 24 Aug3.60 Elephant Bet / 3.93 Elephant Bet / 1.98 Premier Bet · 27 / 25 / 49%
Even the tightest board of the weekend, Fulham against Chelsea, carries 3.73%. In several markets that figure would be the widest of the round rather than the narrowest.
Arsenal against Coventry is quoted at more than 9%, which makes the Friday opener the single most expensive bet available in this market this weekend.
What each market costs here
Margin is what the odds carry above a fair book. Angola's three markets are unusually close to one another, and all of them are high.
- Match result7.65% at a typical book, 5.05% at the best available price
- Over and under 2.5 goals8.77% at a typical book, 6.75% at the best available price
- Both teams to score8.66% at a typical book, 5.93% at the best available price
Ordinarily the three figures fan out, with results priced keenly and goals markets priced dearly. Here they cluster, which tells you the pricing is not being driven by which markets bettors compare.
It also means there is no cheap corner of this board to retreat to. The bet that costs least is the one you were going to make anyway, placed at the best number you can find.
How the houses compare
Averaged across the matches each priced: overall, then match result, then over and under 2.5 goals, then both teams to score.
- Premier Bet7.02% overall · 6.02% · 8.03%
- Afribet7.23% overall · 6.44% · 7.64% · 7.62%
- 888bet7.63% overall · 9.73% · 7.34% · 5.83%
- Mobet8.24% overall · 8.95% · 7.64% · 8.14%
- Elephant Bet8.43% overall · 5.01% · 9.76% · 10.53%
- Bantu Bet9.27% overall · 7.98% · 9.81% · 10.02%
- Ebet12.12% overall · 12.14% · 12.17% · 12.04%
The shapes here are wildly inconsistent. One house is among the keenest on both teams to score and the dearest of all on the result. Another is the reverse. That inconsistency is itself useful, because it means the right choice changes completely depending on the bet.
At the bottom of the table sits a house charging over twelve percent on everything, evenly. Avoiding that is worth more than any other decision on this board.
Where the prices differ
The widest gaps of the weekend, and then the bands they belong to.
- Hull City v Manchester United, home win6.80 at one book against 8.30 at another, 22% better
- Manchester City v Bournemouth, away win5.20 at one book against 5.90 at another, 13% better
- Hull City v Manchester United, the draw4.40 at one book against 4.90 at another, 11% better
- Brighton v Aston Villa, away win2.75 at one book against 3.06 at another, 11% better
- Manchester City v Bournemouth, the draw4.50 at one book against 5.00 at another, 11% better
- Favourites, under 2.002.15% below the best price on average
- Middling prices, 2.00 to 4.002.72% below
- Long shots, over 4.005.16% below
Hull City at home is available at 6.80 in one place and 8.30 in another. On AOA 5,000 that is AOA 7,500 of difference, which is the clearest argument on this page for checking a second price.
The bands below show the familiar shape, though the gap between short and long prices is narrow, because the short prices are already expensive.
What comparison is actually worth
Given how uniformly dear this market is, the question is how much of the board a bettor can realistically reach.
- 888bet41% of the best prices, 97.4% of the value
- Adding Elephant Bet71% of the best prices, 99.5% of the value
- Adding Afribet91% of the best prices, 99.8% of the value
- Adding Premier Bet100% of the best prices, 100.0% of the value
The value climbs steadily rather than jumping, which is the signature of a market with no clear leader. Reaching two names is worth doing. Beyond that the returns are small, and none of it changes the fact that the underlying board is expensive.
What the opening round says
Comparison matters less here than the bet itself. The usual advice is to shop around. In Angola the larger saving comes from avoiding the dearest houses entirely and from leaving the widest matches alone.
The Friday opener is the worst value on the board. It carried the widest margin of the round by some distance. If that repeats it is a standing reason to start the weekend on Saturday.
Watch for a house that decides to compete. Nothing in this market is currently pricing to draw business on price. If one starts, it would show up in these numbers immediately, and it would be the best news Angolan bettors have had in a while.
This is the first instalment. Every round gets the same treatment.

Method
Odds from the Angolan bookmakers listed above on the Premier League fixtures of 21 to 24 August 2026, as at 18 August. Margin is the sum of the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market, less 100%. The best available price takes the highest number quoted on each outcome anywhere in the Angolan market. Percentages beside a fixture are the market's own view of it once margin is stripped out. Odds move; the numbers here describe a snapshot, not a guarantee. 18+. Bet responsibly.
